GCEO and Founder of the Group

Jamal is GCEO and Founder of the SyQic Group. After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wales, Jamal gained experience in taxation and corporate finance with Ernst & Young and Price Waterhouse in Singapore before joining ntv7, a terrestrial broadcasting station in 1995. His success at ntv7 prompted the Malaysian government to appoint Jamal to re-structure and revitalise the TV3 Group (now Media Prima Berhad), the largest terrestrial broadcasting station in Malaysia.

In 2000, Jamal was headhunted to become the COO of SPH Mediaworks Ltd in Singapore. He later moved back to Malaysia to re-structure and re-organise the sale of the Metrovision TV network to the TV3 Media Group.

Jamal then founded Channel 9, the last independent terrestrial television station in Malaysia. Having successfully exited that investment, Jamal later invested in and operated Capital FM, an urban themed radio station in Malaysia, which he also subsequently exited successfully.

Jamal founded SyQic in 2004 where he broke new ground in streaming online video. The Company successfully sought admission to AIM in December 2013.
